Not Paris....at the moment

Only 9 days until our tiny wedding here at Brandywine Falls in Cuyahoga Falls. Strangely, I feel like a lot of that has easily fallen into place. In one fell swoop (and in one day), we got our marriage license, bought Jon's wedding band, and reserved his tux for the big day. We have the reverend, we have the site, I have a dress. I think we might pull off a stress-free little wedding here in Ohio.

On a side, note, we both giggled a lot at the courthouse. We had to raise our right hand and swear we were telling the truth on our application. Also, we had to sign a statement claiming that we were not intoxicated or carrying syphilis.

Dinner Anyone?

The planners just sent me a menu from which we are to choose our wedding evening dinners. I don't know what most of it is (because I am an uncultured American). The only thing that looks good to me is the chocolate at the end. Haha! Jon will want to be adventurous, I am sure. I guess I'll have to be too! Here are some examples. What would YOU choose?!!

The updated plan (with map to follow along): Arrive in Paris on October 8 in the morning, sightsee the next couple of days, wedding ceremony in Buttes Chaumont on Saturday the 11th...Get rental car on the 12th and drive up to Normandy (maybe a stop in Rouen, Giverny, Honfleur, Bayeux, Caen..whatever seems fun), go to and stay at Mont Saint Michel on the 14th, take a train from Rennes to Avignon on the 15th, still figuring out the rest until we leave Paris on the 21st!

I picked up my dress from the shop tonight. It's a relief to have that part done! It's also a relief that it still zips up all the way without me holding my breath.
Speaking of Mont Saint Michel, we just booked a room at a hotel on the mont! Jon was really hoping to stay on the actual rock. I was worried that we had waited too long to secure a room, but we managed to snag a tiny room at Hotel du Mouton Blanc and we got a pretty good deal on it, too.

We are still trying to figure out where we will be on certain dates so that we can book places, but we're also considering figuring out some of that stuff as we go. In any case, we are definitely in panic planning mode now!
